Passions

Passions

December 20, 2011

What do you love?  What do you love to do?  What gets you up and out of bed in the morning and excited to start your day?  Where are you, and what are you doing, when you feel compelled to pinch yourself just to make sure it’s real because you simply cannot believe that you get the opportunity to do it?  Are you getting paid to engage in this awesome thing that you love so much?  Are you with people who propel you forward, who inspire you, who encourage and support you to do your very best?  Who are they?

I feel passionate about my family – especially my son and marvel at his wit, intelligence, kindness, compassion and awesomeness every day.  When I talk about him to others, my voice changes, I feel different, I smile… it’s the condition that I believe most mothers (all parents, really) have for their children.  We can go on for hours and hours, days, months, years about how incredible our children are.  We are passionate folk.

I am passionate about the work that I am doing.  Through the research of the Kauffman Foundation, I have learned and come to truly believe that entrepreneurship is the fuel for a stronger global economy.  Engaging in dialogue with and about entrepreneurs gives me a charge!  I am energized by their passion and our commentary feeds off of one another.

I speak passionately about networking and its importance.  With every fiber of my being, I am convinced that the way that work, that life, that everything gets done is through relationships and relationship building – achieved only through networking.

Please, I implore you, use networking to advance your passions.  When you go for Coffee or Lunch (or Coffee) engage passionately in the dialogue.  Share a little piece of yourself.  Your counterpart will respond in turn.  You will feed off of one another’s enthusiasm.  You will leave inspired.  The rest of your day will be fueled by the good vibes.
