Gobble. Gobble.

Gobble. Gobble.

November 23, 2017

(Author’s Note: Today’s post is inspired by the song, “Albuquerque Turkey” – origin unknown, sung to the tune of “Oh My Darlin’ Clementine” – with special appreciation to my nephew, NoahLou, for teaching me the words to this famed holiday melody.  For some inspiration of your own, take a moment to watch his first public performance of his #1 hit single, circa 2013 (see below).)

Albuquerque is a turkey
And he’s feathered and he’s fine
And wobbles and he gobbles
And he’s absolutely mine

He’s the best pet you can get yet
Better than a dog or cat
He’s my Albuquerque turkey
And I’m awfully proud of that

Now my Albuquerque turkey
Is resting safely in his bed
‘Cause for our Thanksgiving dinner
We’ll have spaghetti instead

Need more be said?

Whether in Albuquerque or in Kansas City or in NYC or anywhere else in this world, eat some turkey (or spaghetti…), stuffing, green bean casserole, cornbread, sweet potatoes (with marshmallows, please), pumpkin pie, pecan pie and anything else your heart desires. Put it away. Then dig it out around midnight and have a snack.

Wishing you a wonderful, meaningful holiday with people who you love and who love you right back.

Thank you for being part of the CLC Community. I appreciate you more than you know and am grateful for you every day.

Happy Thanksgiving!
